Emily's job

This is the Barnes and Noble that Emily works at.  She took us there to meet a few of her co-workers and it was also the day that Maya Angelou was going to be there for a reading and book signing.  We didn't stay to hear or see Ms. Angelou - unfortunate but we want to spend hours and hours waiting.  Emily and Justin's roommate, Dan was there, bought a book and ended up waiting for 4.5 hours and didn't get his book signed.  He said Ms. Angelou had some health problems and had a doctor and nurse accompany her to the event.  She was on oxygen for a short time and had to quit signing periodically until she felt better.  Very unfortunate as they were setting up for a large crowd and Dan said people were quite angry when she left before signing all the books.  But we got to meet Emily's co-worker, Patrick, who she talks about all the time.  He's a very nice man who has helped her figure things out in the big city he was raised in.  People like Patrick make moms like me feel so much better knowing their little girl has someone who will help.

This is Union Square where the B & N is located.  Very nice location and Emily said it's easy to get on and off the subway to get to work.
