Back in the day

This is the back porch of the house I grew up in. It was across the street from Patti Jessop's house so of course we became friends and played together, stayed overnight at each other's houses... you know.... little neighbor girl stuff. There were kids in both houses to the east of us and we played together too. Sometimes we played well and sometimes not but that's the way neighborhood kids are. This picture doesn't have a date but I'm pretty sure it's pre-kindergarten.

This is also a picture of Patti and I from 1969. Kindergarten, I think.
My siblings and I. Keith, Sheila, Curt and I'm holding the family dog, Peanuts.

And I'm just a cute little girl, don't you think? No wonder my mom loved me so... ha ha

I see that it's been a very long time since I blogged and I see that I owe you all the rest of our trip pictures from New Orleans. I have been busy (haven't we all), I have been frustrated with a slow computer (that's easy to fix if you have $) and I recently joined facebook and it's FUN! Sorry I've neglected my blog. I'll change that soon. My computer is on the mend (thanks, Cory) and I'll get my pictures back soon. Then the fun will begin!

ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans

Sunday, July 19, 2009. The send off service/blessing from First Lutheran Church. Blessing we needed! Longer bus ride we didn't!
Sharon giving the kids instructions on how we were going to load the bus. Chaperones and seniors got their own seats. Followed by underclassmen who had to share.

The group ready for adventure!

The chaperones. We started out on the trip with a smile!

Macy getting her 3rd year medal.
Macy and Paige really having a good time with that partners dance.

I think the St. James girls are in here somewhere! Coach had them sign up to learn different dances to bring home to teach the rest of the team. Surprisingly some of the dances where more dramatic than other years.

Just for Kix Dance Camp

July 8-11 Macy attended the Just for Kix Dance Camp at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. We went down on Saturday, July 11 to watch the final performance and to pick her up. This was her third year going and she had a great time! Lots of dances are learned and new techniques to bring back to the Saintettes regular season.
Macy and Paige were paired up for the partners dance. I really hope they get to perform this one during the regular season. It was really fun!

Two of this year's captains, Hannah and Kat.

Yes, Macy and Paige are fighting. I told you this was a really fun dance and it's all part of the performance!
