Choir Concert

The theme for this years spring choir concert was "movies". The limited edition kids were to come up with their favorite movie character to dress like and the choices were fun and the costumes were fabulous!
Macy decided on "Matilda" from the Roald Dahl story. I shopped at second hand stores to find her the right outift and ended up at Target in the little girls' section. Yes, an extra large in little girls still fits her!

Add a hair bow, white t-shirt, take off the shoes and socks and there you are! Matilda! She's with Tory who had a few choice characters and I think she finally settled on Fantine from Les Miserables.

There's Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Ace Ventura, Pet Detective, William Shakespeare from Shakespeare in Love and Boo from Monsters, Inc.

The guys hamming it up for the camera. We have Ace, William, Indiana Jones, The Joker, Rocky, the Scarecrow, and Aladdin. Later the concert choir did an Abba medley. It was hard not to sing along and I suspect a lot of adults felt that way!

Just like old times

except for baby P of course. She wasn't around when Emily and her friends came to our house every day for lunch. But the pizza rolls and ranch dressing are on the table, just like old times! Macy and Austin weren't around either back then and Stacy was usually here.. I guess maybe it isn't just like old times, but close!
Baby P came back for a visit one day. We started babysitting her when she was just a couple of months old and she's growing up so fast! We're glad she comes back once in a while and of course she loves the puppy and kitties! This time she cried when her mom left, I guess she hasn't been here often enough!

Goofs

Logan, Rat and Cory
goofing around after the concert. Talk about three monkeys!
Hear no evil, say no evil, see no evil!

May 8, 2009 Band Concert

It's about time I posted pictures of this concert, don't you think so? Sometimes a sad concert for the seniors who are playing on stage for the last time ever. This was a good concert and a great group of kids to listen to for the last couple of years. They played some Beatles tunes in honor of the band trip to Atlanta and we chaperones happen to sit close enough together to give each other nudges and looks. It was hard not to tap our toes and remember the four Beatles impersonators from the trip. Great night of music and memories.
Cory on the drum set.

Logan on the timpanies. It still amazes me that we brought these monsters along under the bus. I think the crowds that we performed for on the trip were also surprised at how many instruments we brought along. Choir trips MUST be easier than band trips! ha ha

And there's Macy - in the back as usual!

Hanging out with the other percussionists and the back row will look different next year when the younger kids step up.

Hi, my name is Bear

I've lived here since February and it's a pretty nice place to stay. There are cats to chase, food to eat and sticks to drag around the yard. I like the humans that I live with and I love it when other humans come to visit me. I have to greet them when they drive into the yard. I'm really nice to them and I hope they'll play with me. Sometimes I get so excited about playing that I jump on them and then someone tells me no really loud.
Sometimes I get into trouble. I ate a $66 tractor part and my master got really mad at me. I chewed on a five gallon plastic pale that was by my human's door. I don't really know why I chewed on it, it didn't even taste very good but it felt good on my teeth. Then I chewed on some wires and tubing on a sprayer. My master got really mad at me again.
Today I followed my other master almost to town. She was leaving in the van and I wanted to see where she was going. She turned around and came back home (maybe to play with me??) but when she got out of the van she looked really angry. I wouldn't come near her because I could tell she was going to put me back in the barn. Finally the other master grabbed my collar and walked with me to my pen. I wonder how long I'll have to stay in here....
Come visit me soon. Maybe they'll let me out to play with you.

Macy's Pictures

I love the pictures she takes. She has a great photographer's eye and she can make her little Canon really capture what she wants.
