Broken Record

That heading best describes our weather forecasts this winter. It seems like it's been snowing and blowing for months already but it's only been weeks. This is the view to the south from my back door. The picture looks hazy and fuzzy because of the freshly fallen snow that's blowing around at 30-40 miles per hour. Most of the afternoon. Cancelling school on a Monday when we've already been through a weekend together. At home. With each other.
This is the view to the north from my back door. Same fuzzy, blurry effect.

Even better view of the blowing snow. And my house is surrounded by trees and fairly protected from the open areas.

This is the view from my bay window. Sorry, it's the best view I have. Check out the National Weather Service's website (http://www.noaa.gov/) and you'll see that my brother was right. We seem to be stuck in a 36 hour weather pattern. Sometimes it stretches to 48 or 72 hours but then we start hearing the same old forecast coming back at us. 2-4 inches of snow followed by winds sustained at 20-25 mph with gusts as high as 45. Sometimes the snowfall amounts are different but with wind gusts like that it doesn't matter how much or how little snow you get, it's going to be hard to see. Other times the forecast includes freezing rain. Oh boy. Currently the NOAA website shows wind chills of 34 below zero. I just got a text message from KSTP telling me that school is two hours late tomorrow. Yea. (tongue in cheek)
I WANT OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!
Update: guess what tomorrow is going to bring?? You guessed it!! 3-5 inches of snow and winds 14-16 mph. Wednesday is going to be blustery with gusts up to 36. Did I forget to mention the winchill advisory that's going to hang around all week??
