Tennis Tournaments

On August 4, 5 and 6 were tennis tournaments for 15 and under and 16 and over. Monday and Tuesday's tournaments started at 8:30 in the morning and Wednesday's tournament started at 5:30. The summer tournaments are fun for most of the kids who do them. It gives them a chance to play mixed doubles with kids that they normally wouldn't get to play with. I always enjoy watching Macy play tennis. She has great skills that start to emerge a couple of weeks into the team season in the fall. Her summertime skills give us a preview of what will develop over the coming weeks.

This is a partner that she played with on Tuesday. In one play, he reached as high as he could to hit a ball and I'm pretty sure the ball must have been over 8 feet in the air and he missed it. He's a pretty tall kid! I thought he'd hit it!
Three of the four players. This really isn't the right score. They were messing around with the score cards. Macy seemed to be on a losing streak over the three day tournament but she was in a good mood about it! I'll hate to see her on the other side of the courts next year in the 16 and over age group. They are serious tennis players and are out to win! The 15 and under group are out to have fun.
