See, I told you it was the season for concerts!! Monday, December 15th was the High School Choir Christmas Concert and this was the first year with the seventh graders included. Add all those kids together, multiply with parents and grandparents and you have a very packed, full, crowded auditorium. I was called to help usher for this concert and the ushers stand in the front entry handing out programs. Naturally mother nature has southern Minnesota in a firm grasp of horrible winter weather and the temps were around 10 below zero with windchills factured in for 20-30 below. Quite a chilly evening! I kept my gloves and coat on while handing out programs. Once inside, though, we were toasty warm with body heat from hundreds of people. It was standing room only. The concert lasted only 90 minutes which is impressive considering all the groups and individuals that performed plus all the shuffling back and forth for the kids. It was a great evening and this is a concert that I look forward to every year because I always feel more Christmas-y when it's all said and done.
