Friday, September 26 was St. James' homecoming football game and parade. The parade is short but fun, the band practices and practices and tries really hard to have straight lines the day of the parade. The middle school band also marches and one parent that was standing next to me commented on the lines... "kind of like a snake dance"... how true. But those middle-schoolers really get into playing their instruments! The drums were beaten to within an inch of their lives and they played their music well and loud! It sure made the parade exciting.
Macy and her drum. Percussion is a lot of fun unless your marching in a parade carrying a 30 pound drum for block after block. (It may not weigh 30 pounds but she says it feels like it and who am I to argue? I'm not carrying the thing.) This is the best picture I got and am excited about it. It's really hard to get good pictures of the percussion section. Usually the drums are hiding their heads!
And to the football field before the game. Macy is always this happy when I show up with my camera. Please note that Cory is actually looking in my direction and may be smiling. His mother will be so happy to see this picture!
