My girls

As I drove home from spending the day with Emily, I couldn't help but think about how happy she is and how proud I am of her. She's come through some pretty tough times and has been able to put it in the past and gain from the experiences she's had. She's strong, courageous and beautiful and I'm so thankful she's my daughter!
How lucky can I be to have another amazing daughter in my life? I love her smile, her strength, her courage, her generous heart, her laugh and her talent. I love her. A lot. As her Junior year of high school quickly comes to an end, I'm wishing I could freeze time. I promise to savor every moment and can't wait to see what her future holds. It's going to be good! I'm very proud of you, Macy!

Briar Cliff Tennis

April 24 - Emily won her match in the tie breaker!
It was really fun to watch and a great match!
Emily's coach, Nabil, gives her a pep talk after her match.

The team introductions in Sioux Falls on April 14.

Beautiful day for tennis. A little windy but the warm sun was very welcome.

Emily's friend, Asha and her roommate as well as Em's friends from Briar Cliff, Nathan and Alyssa drove to Sioux Falls to watch as well. It was fun to see everyone support the tennis team.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Daniel tried out for and was cast as Grandpa George in the Armstrong Middle School play of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". The performances were Friday and Saturday night and they were awesome! The kids did a great job with their lines, the sets were fabulous and the costumes were fun! The oompa loompas were really good and Daniel did a great job!
Getting his hair and make-up done.

In the bed for the second and third scenes with Grandma Georgina, Grandpa Joe and Grandpa Josephina.

The narrator, Katie, did a great job explaining the story.

Newer header picture

Happy Easter everyone! My newer header picture is of our flowering crab trees. They aren't flowering just yet, in fact the leave are just beginning to bud out, but spring is close! The snow is gone, there is so much gravel in our grass from the snow that was blown, it'll take months to rake it all out, and the grass is turning green. My rhubarb is coming up and there are promises of tulips in the flower bed. Yup, spring is on it's way!

It's official

John is old. He received his AARP card in the mail yesterday. He turns 50 in October and those AARP people don't want him to miss his big birthday! I wonder if he'll use his card......
