The last of the zoo pictures, I promise!

Can't really remember what this is called but it looked interesting.
We love prairie dogs, don't you?
Towards late afternoon, everyone at the zoo felt like this too.
Pretty wild horses...
And look at these two! Perfectly posed as if on cue for visitors with cameras!

Kind of frightening having a baboon stare at you...
But the babies were absolutely adorable and so small!!
The grizzlies looked incredibly huge and able to rip anything apart...
And the cats were napping!! What a fun zoo day!

More zoo pics

The zoo has a really cool butterfly house and as you walk in you see the most incredible plants, flowers and butterflies flying around them. They will also land on people if they sit still and are patient. Macy caught some beautiful pictures of them.

A Trip to the Minnesota Zoo

We hadn't been to the Minnesota Zoo in a few years and I was anxious to do something with the kids the weekend before school got underway for the year again. We discussed a few options at home and decided the zoo would be as good a place as any to spend Sunday, August 1. So we headed out. As Macy was driving toward the cities, I mentioned a few other options that we could do instead of the zoo, including Valley Fair. She didn't say much and Emily and Daniel were watching a movie and hadn't heard me talk about other places. I made the mistake of asking as we got closer (and I took over driving)... Daniel was all for Valley Fair. Emily didn't have a preference and Macy was set against it. She was ready for the zoo. Either place I drove to, I was going to have a mad child. From the picture above, you can guess where we went and which child didn't want to be there! Sorry, Daniel... next time you can pick!
And of course if you want really awsome pictures, hand the camera to Macy! Most of the following pictures were taken by her.

I love this picture of the fish. It makes me want to enlarge it to poster size and hang in on my wall. Maybe enjoy some Parrot Bay Rum while gazing at the picture...
Just a fun picture of the three siblings huddled together admiring the brightly colored fish that swim by - and keeping an eye on the shark! By this time Daniel had decided to have fun!

More Kitty Pictures

Macy has always had a special understanding with animals and our new kittens are no exception. I'm amazed at how patient she is with them and they begin to trust her early on as she quietly sits among them.
Here are some of the VERY cute pictures she has taken of them recently.

I wonder what Sebastian is saying to her mommy??
