Snow fun

One Saturday after Sunday school program practice Daniel had some friends over. First there was fine dining at McDonalds then fun outside in the snow. Thanks, guys, for coming over and being such good guests!

Grandma's codfish had to wait until schedules and the weather allowed us to get together. We had delicious food and a fun time even though it had to be re-scheduled.

Was originally planned for Christmas Day but the weather forecasted sounded nasty so we re-scheduled it for the Sunday after Christmas. Mom, Dad, Sheila, Alicia and my five headed up there on that beautiful blue skied morning. We were treated to fantastic food (of course) and great company. Here are the treats that followed the wonderful meal.

After the meal is consumed and cleaned up we all sit around the dining room table and commence to play Bingo! a fun family favorite that everyone can play! Each person who gets a Bing0! gets to select a prize from the pile until the pile is gone. This year there were puzzles, 12 packs of Sundrop, flashlights, popcorn tins, reusable shopping bags, photo albums, boxes of candy, fuzzy socks........... etc..... I think we get better and better at buying inexpensive prizes as the years go on. Fun is enjoyed by all!

Yup - almost have a Bingo!! The best part of playing this game is that this particular set used to belong to our beloved aunts, Edna and Lavina, that I purchased at their estate auction. Its a set especially designed for seniors - kind of a large print bingo game!

Christmas Eve 2009

Snow fell. Snow blew. Plans changed. Celebrations were cancelled. We went to the Christmas Eve church service and had to push Emily's car when it got stuck in the yard coming back home. Our Christmas Eve plans are always the same. Grandma Coleman makes codfish in milk sauce and when dishes are done we open presents. This year we simply went home. I had made Famous Dave's Meatloaf (which is really good!) and we enjoyed meatloaf, mashed potatoes and carrots when we got home from church. We opened our family presents and then enjoyed a quiet evening at home playing Apples to Apples. It was a different Christmas Eve than we had hoped for or planned for but it was spent at home together with everyone happy and safe. The weather on Christmas Day was much the same with snow falling and blowing. Another quiet day spent at home.

She's a rebel!

This second child of mine is most certainly a rebel. And now she owns one.
She started working at Superfair in October and has been saving her money to purchase the camera that she/we have wanted for a looooong time. The Canon Rebel. It arrived on Christmas Eve morning and couldn't have had more perfect timing. I sincerely hope she never puts it down. She has an amazing eye for composure and incredible patience when it comes to picture taking. She's taken some amazing photographs with my mid-priced Fuji and I can't wait to see what she does with the Canon. She hasn't let me touch it yet - with good reason - she may not get it back!! I'm so excited for you Macy!!!! (She's excited too! Notice the smile)
